After Mass this morning parishioners had the chance to come and take a closer look at the sacristy and its workings. There was no formal presentation; rather the group had the chance to ask questions about the objects we use for the celebration of Mass and their significance. The 'open day' included a look at the vestments, some of the chalices and the liturgical books. Above, one of the sacristans demonstrates how to light the thurible, in which incense is burnt.
